The Large Horn Cable is a panel stitch pattern that resembles the wide horns of a steer, stacked on top of each other. It’s a bold cable knitting stitch perfect for multiple project types.
This stitch is worked just like the horn cable stitch but over 16 sts instead of 6sts. It creates a very strong and sophisticated column of cables. The large horn cable stitch would be great for aran sweaters, blankets and adding an extra bit of coziness to any project!
Hi Johnny,
I have been knitting for a long time and I just have to say that your website is terrific. I look forward to your posts and read/watch all the tutorials. It is great to know that I have a reference for stitch questions with all my future projects. I have learned so many things watching the videos…including things that I do wrong! Thank you for all you do for us knitters. I plan on passing the link to all my knitting friends as well as telling my yarn shops about you. Best of luck to you and yours!

I’m a new knitter and I love stitch a day. Question: I would like to incorporate these new stitches into some projects. Would you be able to suggest patterns for some of the stitches such as the large horn cable? Or direct me on how to find some? Thank you!
Johnny Vasquez says:
You can look for a basic mitten pattern on Ravelry.com. I’ve seen some that use this stitch already.
