Row 1: (Wrong Side): P8, K1, p3, k1, p8; rep from * to end.
Row 2: K8, *p1, slip 2 sts, k 3rd st on LH needle, k 2nd st, then k 1st st, then all 3 sts off LH needle, p1, k8; rep from * to end.
Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you have reached your desired length.

I could not find anything wrong with the video. If you follow my instructions (my voice) and do what I do with my hands, you should be able to knit this without any issue. The written instructions are correct, but a little hard to interpret, so I would ignore those when practicing, and then take another look at them once you’ve tried it the way I explain it in the video.
