Banded Basket Stitch

About this Stitch Pattern

The banded basket stitch is a knitting pattern which creates a woven looking fabric. The basketweave pattern has one column of thin stitches, and one almost double its width. This is a simple, reversible, all-over knitting stitch, and it’s graphic lines are aesthetically pleasing on larger projects. The classic style of the banded basket stitch is reminiscent of folk crafts of the 1970’s. Use this in blankets, washcloths, or market bags.
