How to Knit the Loop Stitch



This video knitting tutorial will help you learn how to knit the loop stitch. This simple pattern creates a nicely textured fabric that is great for scarves and cowls, as well as afghans, bags, and pillows.

Skill: Easy

Cast On: Multiples of 2 + 2

For this pattern you will need to know the following techniques:

Knit – k

Slip Stitch – sl st

Pattern:

Row 1: Knit all sts.
Row 2: K1, *sl 1 purlwise wyib, k1; rep from * to the last stitch, k1.
Row 3: Knit all sts.
Row 4: K2, *sl 1 purlwise wyib, k1; rep from * to the last stitch, k1

Repeat rows 1 – 4 until you have reached your desired length.

After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:
