How to Knit the Honeycomb Cable Stitch

The Honeycomb Cable Stitch is an interesting cable pattern that emulates the hexagonal shapes of the honeycomb. It creates a dense fabric that is great for sweaters, pillows, and blankets designs.

Skill: Intermediate

Cast On: Multiples of 8

For this pattern you will need to know the following techniques:

Knit – k

Purl – p

Cable Four Back – C4B

Cable Four Front – C4F

Pattern:

Row 1 (RS): *C4B, C4F,* rep from * to end.

Row 2: Purl.

Row 3: Knit.

Row 4: Purl.

Row 5: *C4F, C4B,* rep from * to end.

Row 6: Purl.

Row 7: Knit.

Row 8: Purl.

Repeat rows 1 – 8 until you have reached your desired length.

After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:
