How to Knit: Placing a Stitch Marker

This video knitting tutorial will help you learn how to place a stitch marker in your knitting. Stitch markers are used to mark the beginning of a round or a point where you want to increase or decrease. They can also be helpful with counting stitches while casting on.

Abbreviation: Place marker – pm, slip marker – sl m

Skill: Easy

When you reach a point where you want to mark your knitting, take your stitch marker and place it onto your needle as if you were slipping as stitch purl wise. When every you come to the marker just slip it from one needle to the other and continue knitting as normal.
