This crochet tutorial will help you learn how to crochet the global connection stitch. This stitch creates an interesting popcorn pattern with a lot of texture. The global connection stitch would be great for shawls, throws, and blankets!
Popcorn- work 4dc into next st, drop loop from hook, insert hook from the front into top of first of these dc, pick up dropped loop and draw through dc, 1ch to secure popcorn.
Row 1: (Right Side): work 1sc into 2nd ch from hook, *1ch, skip 3ch, 1dc into next ch, 1ch, into same ch as last dc work [1dc, 1ch, 1dc], 1ch, skip 3ch, 1sc into next ch; rep from * to end, turn.
Row 2: 6ch (count as 1dc, 3ch), skip 1dc, 1sc into next dc, *3ch, 1 popcorn into next sc, 3ch, skip 1dc, 1sc into next dc; rep from * to last sc, 3ch, 1dc into last sc ,turn.
Row 3: 1ch, 1sc into first dc, *1ch, 1dc into next sc, 1ch, into same st as last dc work [1dc, 1ch, 1dc], 1ch, 1sc into top of next popcorn; rep from * to end, placing last sc into 3rd of 6ch at beg of previous row, turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you have reached your desired length.
