TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS STITCH:

Chain Stitch – Ch
Single Crochet-sc

Double Crochet (dc)-Yarn over hook once, insert hook from front to back in the center of the fourth chain from the hook. Yarn over, draw the yarn through the chain (3 loops on hook). Yarn over, draw yarn through 2 loops on hook (2 loops remain on hook). Yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook (one double crochet complete).

Puff Stitch (Puff st)- [yo, insert hook into next st, yo and draw a loop through] 3 times into same st, yo and draw through 7 loops on hook, work 1 firm ch to close puff st.

Skill: Intermediate
Foundation Chain:Multiple of 6 sts + 4.

Pattern Instructions

1. Row 1

   (Right Side): 1sc into 2nd ch from hook, 1sc into each ch to end, turn.

2. Row 2

   3ch (counts as 1dc), skip 1st sc, 1dc into each sc to end, turn.

3. Row 3

   1ch, 1sc into each of 1st 2dc, *3ch, skip 2dc, 1 puff st into next dc, 3ch, skip 2dc, 1sc into next dc; rep from * to last dc, 1sc into 3rd of 3ch at beg of previous row, turn.

4. Row 4

   5ch (count as 1dc, 2ch), work 3sc into closing ch of next puff st, *3ch, 3sc into closing ch of next puff st; rep from * to last 2sc, 2ch, 1dc into last sc, turn.

5. Row 5

   1ch, 1sc into 1st dc, 2sc into 1st 2ch sp, *1sc into each of next 3sc, 3sc into next 3ch sp; rep from * to end working last sc into 3rd of 5th at beg of previous row, turn.

Repeat rows 2-5 until you have reached your desired length.
