This crochet tutorial will help you learn how to crochet the popping cable stitch. This stitch creates a fun cable design. The popping cable stitch would be great for pillows, scarves and purses!
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch across, turn.
Row 2: ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.
Row 3: ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.
Row 4: ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.
Row 5: ch 1, sc in 1st 2sc, *cable in next sc 3rows below, skip next sc on current row, sc in next 5sc; rep from * to last 3sc, cable in next sc 3 rows below, sc in last 2sc, turn.
Row 6: ch 1, sc in each st across, turn.
Row 7: ch 1, sc in 1st 2sc, *cable in next sc 3 rows below (behind prev cable), skip next sc on row, sc in next 5sc; rep from * to last 3sc, cable in next sc 3 rows below, sc in last 2sc, turn.
Repeat rows 6 and 7 until you have reached your desired length.
