How to Knit the Waffle Stitch

This video knitting tutorial will help you learn how to knit the waffle stitch. This pattern resembles the texture of a waffle and makes a great fabric for scarves, blankets, and washcloths.

Skill: Easy

Cast On: Multiples of 3 + 1

For this pattern you will need to know the following techniques:

Knit – k

Purl – p

Pattern:

Row 1 (RS): *K1, p2; rep from * to last st,k1.

Row 2: *P1, k2; rep from * to last st, p1.

Row 3: Knit all stitches

Row 4: Purl all stitches

Repeat rows 1 – 4 until you have reached your desired length.

After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:
