How to Crochet the Primrose Stitch

This video crochet tutorial will help you learn how to crochet the primrose stitch.

Skill: Easy
Foundation Chain: Multiples of 3 + 2

TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS STITCH:
Chain Stitch – ch
Single Crochet – sc
Half Double Crochet – hdc
Double Crochet – dc

Pattern Instructions:

Prep Row: Work [1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc] in 3rd ch from hook, *skip next 2 cha, [1 sc,ch 2, 1 sc] in next ch, rep from * across, ending with 1 hdc in last ch, turn

Row 1: Ch 3, *3 dc in next ch-2 space (shell made), rep from * across, ending with 1 dc in top of turning ch, turn

Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), * [1 sc, ch 2, 1 sc] in 2nd dc of next shell, rep from * across, ending with 1 hdc in top of turning ch, turn

Repeat row 1 & 2 until you have reached your desired length.

After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:

    I love this stitch. I am beginner. have reviewed this many times. Just not quite getting it. Need more reps in video. Also trying to follow written directions. Any suggestions. Really want to get this stitch. Want to make an afghan.
