TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS STITCH:
Chain Stitch – ch
Double Crochet – dc
Special Abbreviation: Sdc (Spike double crochet) = yo, insert hook into same lace that first dc of previous 3dc block was worked, yo, draw loop through and up so as not to crush 3dc block, [yo, draw through 2 loops] twice.
Skill: Intermediate
Foundation Chain:
Multiples of 4 + 2 (add 2 for base chain)
Pattern Instructions

Row 1
skip 3ch (count as 1dc), *1dc into each of next 3ch, skip next ch and work 1Sdc over it instead; rep from * ending 1dc into last ch, turn.

Row 2
3ch (count as 1dc), skip 1 st, *1dc into each of next 3sts, skip next st and work 1Sdc over it instead; rep from * ending 1dc into top of tch, turn.
Repeat row 2 until you have reached your desired length.
