This crochet 101 beginner video tutorial will help you learn how to crochet a chain stitch, the most basic stitch in crochet. The chain stitch is the foundation for many crochet stitch patterns and also can be used to attach different parts of more advanced stitches.
Materials Used in this Tutorial
A Ball of Yarn
A Crochet Hook
Take working yarn, hold the hook in your dominate hand, wrap yarn around the hook by going behind the hook and over the front of the hook. The yarn should rest in crook of the hook.
Draw working yarn through slip knot on hook. Grab knot at base of slip knot and pull yarn through the center of the loop, just enough to let stitch move easily along the hook.
Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you have reached your desired amount of chains.
