Double Herringbone Mesh Stitch

Double Herringbone Mesh Example

About this Stitch Pattern

The double herringbone mesh is a beautiful and delicate lace panel stitch. Using a variety of lace eyelet knitting techniques, this pattern creates a geometric design with zig zagging lines of stitches. Each repeat of the pattern develops into something of a diamond motif. These motifs stack and interlock, making a wide column of openwork with a bold impact.

This lace stitch is good for knitters who want to move into more difficult lace knitting patterns. There’s a lot to keep track of, so a lifeline is encouraged.

The double herringbone mesh is best used as a decorative insert in larger pieces of fabric, like shawls, blankets, and light sweaters.
