Broad Spiral Rib Stitch

About this Stitch Pattern

The Broad Spiral is a mock cable ribbing stitch. It consists of columns of small cable twists, stacked closely on top of each other creating a spiral effect. The trick is the mock cable, which uses a variation of a knit two together decrease to make the cable twist. It’s pretty easy once you get the hang of it and less cumbersome to knit than a 1/1 cross cable.

These cable ribs are a little wider than usual, but the end result can be used in anything from a sweater to scarf to a hat.
