This crochet tutorial will help you learn how to crochet the boxed puff stitch. This stitch creates a dense but delicate boxed pattern with lots of texture. The boxed puff stitch would be great for afghans, blankets and baby booties!
Row 1: (Right Side): Puff St into 5th ch from hook, *skip 2ch, [1dc) 2ch, Puff St] all into next ch; rep from * ending skip 2ch, 1dc into last ch, turn.
Row 2: 1ch, skip 1st st, *work 1dc loosely over next row into first of 2 skipped sts in row below, 1sc into Puff St, 1sc into next 2ch sp; rep from * ending 1sc into 3rd ch of tch, turn.
Row 3: 5ch (count as 1dc and 2ch), Puff St into 1st st, *skip 2sc, [1dc) 2ch, Puff St] all into next dc; rep from * ending skip 2sc, 1dc into last dc, skip tch, turn.
Repeat row 2 and 3 ending with a 2nd row until you have reached your desired length.
