This video knitting tutorial will help you learn how to knit the trellis lace stitch. This lace lattice pattern creates a beautiful open mesh fabric that’s perfect to use in scarves, wraps, and blankets.

Skill: Intermediate

Cast On: Multiples of 6 + 5

For this pattern you will need to know the following techniques:

Knit – k
Purl – p
Yarn Over – yo
Knit Two Together – k2tog
Slip Stitch – sl st
Pass Slipped Stitch Over – psso

Pattern:

Row 1: Row 1: K4, *yo, sl1, k2tog, psso, yo, k3; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 2: Purl all sts.
Row 3: Row 3: K1, *yo, sl1, k2tog, psso, yo, k3; rep from * to last 4 sts, yo, sl1, k2tog, psso, yo, k1
Row 4: Purl all sts.

Repeat rows 1 – 4 until you have reached your desired length.

After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:
