This video will help you learn how to knit the shadow rib stitch english style. This pattern creates a mock rib pattern that does not pull in like normal ribbing, which makes it great for creating texture on sweaters, scarves, and afghans.
Skill: Beginner
Cast On: Multiples of 3 + 2
For this pattern you will need to know the following techniques:
Knit Through the Back Loop – k tbl
Pattern:
Row 1 (WS): Knit all sts.
Row 2: P2, *k1 tbl, p2; rep from * to end.
Repeat rows 1 – 2 until you have reached your desired length.
After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:

@JuliaMason I wasn’t able to replicate your problem. Most likely you need to let the video buffer by clicking play, then pause real quick, and let the grey bar grow to about half the length of the video before starting the video again.
