How to Knit the Pillar Cable Stitch

This video knitting tutorial will help you learn how to knit the pillar cable stitch. This pillar cable stitch is simple, yet bold. It is perfect for as an accent on sweaters, purses, and blankets.

Skill: Intermediate
Worked over 4 stitches on a reverse stockinette background.

TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS STITCH:
Knit – k
Purl – p
Cable Two Forward – c2f
Cable Two Back Wrong Side – c2bw

Pattern Instructions:

Row 1 (RS): K1, [c2f] twice
Row 2: P1, [c2bw] twice

Repeat these 2 rows until you have reached your desired length.

After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:
