This video knitting tutorial will help you learn how to knit the little cable stitch. This simple cabled fabric has tiny little twisted stitches that look like rows of little birds. It’s great as an accent to a sweater or in a blanket or scarf.
Skill: Intermediate
Cast On: Multiples of 6 + 2
For this pattern you will need to know the following techniques:
Knit – k
Purl – p
Left Twist – LT
Right Twist – RT
Pattern Instructions:
Row 1: Knit all stitches
Row 2: Purl all stitches
Row 3: P2, *RT, LT, p2; rep from * to end
Row 4: K2, *p4, k2; rep from * to end
Row 5: Knit all stitches
Row 6: Purl all stitches
Repeat rows 1 – 6 until you have reached your desired length.
After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:
