This video knitting tutorial will help you learn how to knit the Invisible Cast On. This cast on creates a rounded edge and is best used when elasticity and strength are needed.
Skill: Intermediate
Note: For this cast on you will need two sets of needles, one pair the size recommended for the yarn and one pair two sizes smaller.
Instructions:
Step 1: use a needle 2 sizes larger and a contrasting color, cast on half of the number of sts required by pattern.
Step 2: Work k1, p1 rib for three or more rows.
Step 3: With the smaller needle and the main color, k1, p1 in each st, doubling the cast on sts
Step 4: K the knit sts, and sl the purl sts wyif.
Step 5: K the knit sts, and sl the purl sts wyif. Repeat for four rows
Step 6: Remove the contrasting yarn. and continue in pattern.
