How to Knit the Filet Net Stitch

This video knitting tutorial will help you learn how to knit the filet net stitch. This lace pattern creates a mesh fabric that is perfect for market bags and blankets.

Skill: Intermediate
Cast On: Multiples of 3

For this pattern you will need to know the following techniques:
Knit – k
Purl – p
Slip Stitch – sl

Pass Slip Stitch Over – psso
Yarn Over – yo

Pattern Instructions:

Note: This pattern is completely reversible
Row 1: K2, *sl 2, psso, sl 1, psso, sl 1 back to main needle, yo 2x, k1; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 2: K3, *p1, k2; rep from * to end.

Repeat rows 1 – 2 until you have reached your desired length.

After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:

    You mention that this requires a multiple of 3 but the line printed on video says 2.  I really love this stitch and will attempt to make something with it.  Could you clarify?

      When in doubt the audio is always correct. Unfortunately I won’t be able to edit the video to fix it. YouTube doesn’t let you change them once they’re posted.

    It would be helpful to include in the written directions that you are slipping stitches purlwise.
