How to Knit the Fancy Slip Stitch Rib Pattern

This video knitting tutorial will help you learn how to knit the fancy slip stitch rib pattern. This simple rib stitch creates a puffy rib pattern that is a nice alternative to the traditional rib stitch. It’s great for scarves, hats, and sweaters or blankets.

Skill: Easy
Cast On: Multiples of 5 + 2

For this pattern you will need to know the following techniques:
Knit – k
Purl – p
Slip Stitch – sl st

Pattern Instructions:

Row 1 (RS): P2, *k1, sl 1 purlwise, k1, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 2: K2, *p3, k2; rep from * to end.

Repeat rows 1 – 2 until you have reached your desired length.

After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:
