Note: Work 4 rows each in colors A and B alternately throughout.
Row 1 (right side): 2sc into 2nd ch from hook, *1 sc into each of next 4ch, skip 2ch, 1 sc into each of next 4ch, 3sc into next ch; rep from * ending last rep with 2sc only into last ch, turn.
Row 2: 1 ch, 2sc into first st, *1 sc into each of next 4 sts, skip 2 sts, 1 sc into each of next 4 sts, 3sc into next st; rep from * ending last rep with 2sc only into last st, skip tch, turn.
Repeat row 2 until you have reached your desired length.
I love this pattern! I want to make a baby blanket as a gift using this pattern, but I’d like to use a double crochet instead of a single. Do I need to make any changes for this to turn out right?

It depends on how thick your yarn is, how big your hook is, and how loose or tight you crochet, so I can’t really tell you how long it will be. You’ll have to test it out.

No you would create your foundation chain in multiples of 11 (22, 33, 99).

I keep running into trouble. According to prior question that the foundation chain is in multiples of 11. Please explain the 1+1. If I add one for base stitch isn’t that twelve??? I am really confused. I am new to crocheting and learning everything from various videos, I just wish my Mother-in-law was still here to teach me in person.
