This video crochet tutorial will help you learn how to crochet the beehive Stitch. This basic pattern uses the front post double crochet (FPdc) to create a nicely textured fabric that’s great for afghans and washcloths.

Skill: Intermediate
Foundation Chain: Multiples of 2 + 1

TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS STITCH:
Chain Stitch – ch
Double Crochet – dc
Front Post Double Crochet – FPdc

Pattern Instructions:

Prep Row: starting in 4th ch from hook, work 1 dc in each ch across row

Row 1: Ch 3 (counts as a dc), skip st, *1 FPdc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, rep from * across, ending 1 dc in top of turning ch, turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, skip first st, *1 FPdc in next FPdc, 1 dc in next dc, rep from * ending with 1 dc in top of turning ch, turn.

Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you have reached your desired length.

After a few repeats your pattern should look like this:
