TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS STITCH:

Chain Stitch – Ch
Double Crochet-dc

Leafhopper Cluster(LCL)- *[yo, insert hook at front and form right to left behind stem of st before next st, yo, draw loop through and up to height of hdc] twice, yo, draw through 4 loops**, skip next st, rep from * to ** around stem of next st, ending yo, draw through all 3 loops on hook.

Skill: Intermediate
Foundation Chain: Multiple of 4 sts + 1. Add 2 for base chain.

Pattern Instructions

  1. Row 1

    (Wrong Side): skip 3ch (count as 1dc), 1dc into next and each ch to end, turn.

  2. Row 2

    3ch (count as 1dc), skip 1st st, 1dc into next st, *LCL over next st, 1dc into each of next 3 sts; rep from * omitting 1dc from end of last rep, turn.

  3. Row 3

    3ch (count as 1dc), skip 1st st, 1dc into next and each st to end, working last st into top of tch, turn.

  4. Row 4

    3ch (count as 1dc), skip 1st st, *1dc into each of next 3 sts, 1LCL over next st; rep from * ending 1dc into each of last 4 sts, working last st into top of tch, turn.

  5. Row 5

    3ch (count as 1dc), skip 1st st, 1dc into next and each st to end, working last st into top of tch, turn.

Repeat rows 2-5 until you have reached your desired length.
