This week in stitches features…

  • Knitting 103
  • The Subscriber of the Week
  • 6 American Football Patterns for the Superbowl!
  • This Week’s Stitches

If you just can’t wait for This Week in Stitches each week, and you want even more fun, interesting links than the few we highlight here, follow @newstitchaday on Twitter or join our Facebook page. It’s painless. Really.

So we’re a little late with this week’s update. Ok alotta late. But that’s just because we’re super busy getting ready for TNNA this weekend in sunny Long Beach, CA (our favorite place in CA cause that is where my wife and I met and got married).

We’re stoked at the response to our live classes and we have so much more in store for you all in the coming weeks. I’m giddy like a little school girl!

There’s lots more great stuff below, so check out our pattern finds and all of this week’s stitches.

Don’t forget to answer our question of the week at the end of the post!

Welcome to Our New Email Subscribers

It’s been about a week since our last update and we had 530 people coming on board the New Stitch a Day email list! We’re very excited to welcome you to the NSAD family!

Great job to all of you who are telling your friends about the site on Twitter, Facebook, Ravelry, Knitting Paradise, Pinterest, and at your local yarn stores. Keep up the good work!

New Yarn Craft Academy Classes

Yarn Craft Academy Logo
Last week was amazing! We had almost 900 people sign up for our live double knitting class and we had a blast with those who were able to make it.

I also want to welcome the 14 new members of the Yarn Craft Academy!

Colorwork Knitting 102: Double Knitting for Beginners

Here’s what people are saying about the class:

It was so exciting. By the end of the class I was double knitting. It was so satisfying to be able to see the rows progressing. I kept right on knitting after the class was over.
I joined the academy . . . and now I look forward to the next class.
- Carolyn

I actually DID it! I’m a lot more comfortable with crocheting than knitting, but… I did *exactly* what he said to do – and I came out *right*! :-) The class gave me several options to try – I was able to complete a nice swatch – will practice just a bit more before I try out the actual patterns – but, I’m *doing it*! Thanks so much – you give me confidence that maybe I *can* become a ‘knitter’!- MaryC

As an Academy Member, I’m amazed at each new video, Johnny. The money spent in being a member was well worth the time and work you have put into each video to help those wanting to learn new knitting stitches and techniques.

Keep up the great work. I look forward to our next class.- Marilyn

That was just a few of the 24 five star reviews for this class!

Subscriber of the Week

This week’s subscriber of the week is Beckie from Pennsylvania!

Beckie crocheted two beautiful doilies (only one is pictured)!.

We love it when people work hard to create traditional items like doilies so we decided to make Beckie the subscriber of the week!

Please congratulate Beckie in the comments!

I watch for the commercials, BUT I’m so used to ignoring commercials, I forget to watch them until I’m in the kitchen or the bathroom.
